TAKE THE TOP · PRIVACY

What becomes public, and what stays operational.

This notice explains the information used to operate Take The Top and how public level placements work. Last updated August 26, 2026.

The information we handle

When you add a level, we handle the name or business name, message, optional website address, reservation and order identifiers, payment status, amount, currency, and timestamps needed to create and support the level. If you contact support, we handle the information you include in that message.

We also receive limited technical and security information needed to run the site, such as browser and device details, IP-address-related logs supplied by infrastructure providers, and activity records used to prevent abuse and diagnose problems, and email address to supply successful payment receipt emails.

What is public

A level is a public placement. The submitted name, message, level number, date, and optional website link can be displayed to visitors and may be indexed, shared, copied, or retained by others. Please do not put personal, confidential, or sensitive information in a level.

When a visitor selects a public website link, Take The Top adds an attribution parameter indicating that the visit came from the tower. The destination website receives that link and its own privacy practices apply from that point.

Payments and service providers

Stripe processes card, Link, Apple Pay, Google Pay, and other available checkout methods. Take The Top does not collect or store full payment card numbers. Stripe’s handling of payment information is governed by Stripe’s own privacy notice and agreements.

We use service providers to host the application, store the tower’s operational records, deliver infrastructure, process payments, and protect the service. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services, comply with law, or protect their systems.

Why we use information

We use information to process and verify purchases, create and display levels, prevent fraud and abuse, moderate submissions, maintain records, answer requests, improve reliability, and meet legal or financial obligations. We may disclose information when reasonably necessary to enforce our terms, protect people or the service, respond to lawful requests, or participate in a business transfer.

Retention and your choices

Public placements are intended to be lasting. We retain public level information while it remains part of the tower and retain payment, security, and support records for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes above and as required by law. If we hide or remove a public level, some operational records may remain.

Depending on where you live, privacy law may give you rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or a copy of your personal information. To make a request, use the contact form supplied below, or support contact shown during checkout or on your payment receipt. We may need to verify your identity and may retain information where law permits or requires it.

Children and updates

Take The Top is not directed to children. Do not submit a level or payment information for a child without appropriate authority. We may update this notice as our service changes; the latest version will always be posted here.
